In 2006 Journey Church was planted in Mill Creek in order to be a part of meeting the gospel need in the region. Journey Church continued to grow, reaching and gathering people in the suburban areas of south Snohomish County meeting in schools for 4 years as a ‘portable’ church.
In 2010, Journey’s primary gathering place moved 10 miles north to downtown Everett where we made the transition from a suburban church to an urban church and began reaching and gathering people in downtown Everett. While we have maintained members and presence in the suburban south we are no longer effectively reaching and gathering people for Christ there, an area with great need.
We became convinced that God was leading Journey Church to become two churches in order to be faithful in Great Commission work in both downtown Everett and south Snohomish County. In September of 2015 the Journey sent 26 adults and 27 kids to plant Redemption Church in the Mill Creek area.
